M-TECS Magnetics for quick die change on stamping presses

With 50 years of experience in quick die change, Hilma now provides magnetic clamping systems for stamping presses. The use of permanent double magnet technology means power is not needed to maintain clamp forces, only to clamp and unclamp. Non standardized stamping dies can be easily and quickly changed, usually without need for retooling. Since the magnetic clamping force is evenly distributed throughout the base of the die, die movement is minimized and tool wear is reduced, lowering the cost for die maintenance. With no moving parts, the system itself is basically maintenance-free.

Safe clamping is ensured with the M-TECS multi level safety system, including: double current sensor, LED diagnostic panel, multi-step clamp/unclamp process, detaching sensor, and die position limit switches. The magnetic platens are custom designed to suit the application. The magnetic press bolster can be designed to incorporate Hilma die lifters and bolster extensions. The M-TECS system is suitable for retrofitting or incorporating into new stamping presses.
